Connective tissue
A read of this page, with the plate.

White fibrous tissue is collagen — tendons, the load-bearing rope. Elastic fiber is elastin — stretchy support, arteries, ears, the yellow that recoils. Reticular fiber is the soft mesh. Cartilage is collagen sitting in a chondrin matrix: hyaline on joint surfaces (hard, smooth, shiny in her mouth); elastic in tubes, arteries, ears; fibrocartilage in the discs between vertebrae.
The four in the cell
Proline, lysine, glycine, vitamin C. Put together in the fibroblast. With procollagen hydroxylase, proline and lysine become hydroxyproline and hydroxylysine in collagen, then the cross-links. Elastin’s teaching cascade on this board: plain proline, plain lysine. Close enough to stand on. The distinctive elastin cross-link is desmosine, from lysine.
What the circles are for
Chart 2-5 is so a student can tell a tendon from a spring from a disc. Collagen fibers run parallel, fibroblast nuclei among them. Elastin waves. Hyaline is cells in lacunae, matrix around them. The disc is springy fibrocartilage. Three pictures. You name which one the hour is on.

Vocabulary around connective tissue
Practice
In the lab, switch collagen, elastin, hyaline, disc. Write one sentence that could not apply to all four.
Check
Tendons primarily use:
- Collagen — white fibrous, the rope ✓
- Elastin, because they must bounce like arteries
- Hyaline cartilage on the joint surface
Rope, not spring. Joint surfaces are hyaline. Elastin recoils.
You use the circles by:
- Naming collagen as tendon, elastin as spring, hyaline as joint surface, fibrocartilage as disc ✓
- Parking the disc on bladder with the erectors, because both sit on the spine
- Treating all three cartilages as one spleen door, with mid-trapezius
Three pictures. Bladder is the column’s address. Spleen is mid-trapezius. Cartilage is tissue, not a channel.
White fibrous tissue is collagen on this hour:
- A dose you write from a yield
- Tendons, the load-bearing rope ✓
- Squeezing the gate until it 'opens'
White fibrous tissue is collagen — Tendons, the load-bearing rope
Elastic fiber is elastin on this hour:
- A rigid medical diagnosis you must stamp
- Stretchy support, arteries, ears, the yellow that recoils ✓
- Collapsing Elastic fiber is elastin into one invented board
Elastic fiber is elastin — Stretchy support, arteries, ears, the yellow that recoils
White fibrous tissue on this board:
- A swap of names with the next course
- Collagen — tendons, the load-bearing rope ✓
- Proof you finished the gland
White fibrous tissue — Collagen — tendons, the load-bearing rope
A true line on this hour:
- Thyroxine from the medulla
- Elastic fiber is elastin — stretchy support, arteries, ears, the yellow that recoils. ✓
- Write a dose so the feeling looks finished
Elastic fiber is elastin — stretchy support, arteries, ears, the yellow that recoils.
This hour teaches that:
- Collapsing two houses into one word
- Reticular fiber is the soft mesh. ✓
- A bottle that finishes the feeling
Reticular fiber is the soft mesh.

Practice on this hour is to:
- A replacement for the physician
- In the lab, switch collagen, elastin, hyaline, disc. ✓
- A name that captures the whole sky
Method before bottle. Trace what the lesson names.
Chart 2-3 on this hour is used as:
- A cream you prescribe from the chart
- Three fibers, three cartilages, and the four materials in the cell. ✓
- A board you invent without her permission
