Chart 18-1: vocabulary around thyroid
Chart 18-1. TSH, calcitonin, PTH and vitamin D, osteoclasts, T3 T4, follicles, colloid, globulin.

Class 18 is thyroid and parathyroid. Course 17 named the clock at the top of the head. This hour holds the gland in the neck. Two lobes, in front of the trachea, below the voice. Two hormones: thyroxine for metabolism and growth, calcitonin for serum calcium into bone. Parathyroid on the back of it pulls calcium out. Permission first. Ask whether you are all alone in the auric field. If not, tracing waits. Chart 1-1 still orders the work.

Practice

Name TSH, T3, T4, calcitonin, colloid, globulin. Journal which word is knocking. Do not start a thyroid tablet because the list is long.

Check

This hour teaches that the thyroid puts out:

  1. Only calcitonin
  2. Thyroxine for metabolism, calcitonin for calcium into bone ✓
  3. Only parathyroid hormone

Two jobs. PTH is the neighbor on the back.

TSH on 18-1 is:

  1. Made in the follicle
  2. Thyroid stimulating hormone from the pea — Course 17 named the ask ✓
  3. A dose of iodine

Anterior pituitary. Negative feedback as a clock.

Colloid on this hour is:

  1. The rim that draws iodine
  2. The jelly at the center of the follicle — storage ✓
  3. Parathyroid hormone

Thyroxine is formed at the periphery, stored in the gel.

Globulin on this hour:

  1. A rice allergy from Course 16
  2. Makes thyroxine in bulk, then escorts it to receptor sites ✓
  3. A dose of vanadium from bile

Container and carrier. Chromium and vanadium sit on the receiving door — later hours card them.

Follicles on 18-1 are:

  1. Four glands on the back
  2. Millions of sacs — two lobes in front of the trachea, below the voice ✓
  3. The pea

Cavities with jelly. The next hours hold the rim.

T3 and T4 on this vocabulary hour are built from:

  1. Cholesterol and bile
  2. Tyrosine and iodine — named here, walked on 18-4 ✓
  3. Tryptophan and silica

The mineral this class is built on is iodine. The amino is tyrosine.

Osteoclasts on 18-1:

  1. Put calcium into bone
  2. Take calcium out — PTH wakes them. A soda that is phosphorus-loud asks the bank to pay ✓
  3. Are TSH

Bone as bank. So the four on the back have a job-word.

PTH on this hour is:

  1. Thyroid stimulating hormone
  2. Parathyroid hormone — four small glands on the back, pulling calcium from bone ✓
  3. A rice door

Course 04’s other door. Not isoleucine.

Calcitonin on 18-1:

  1. Pulls calcium out of bone
  2. Thyroid’s second hormone — puts calcium into bone via osteoblasts ✓
  3. Is made in the pea

Progesterone, testosterone, proline as influence later. Fluoride confuses it.

A hormone already in a medical chart is:

  1. A student protocol
  2. A physician ✓
  3. A reason to prescribe iodine

Ari’s cut of student thyroid protocols stands.
