The universe as energy
A read of this page, with the plate.
The universe is a tremendous energy, and people are part of it.

The universe is a tremendous energy, and people are part of it. That is not a religion. It is the room you already live in. A person is a local organization of that field — breath, pulse, warmth, the sense of being here. Sanskrit called it prana. Naming it does not capture it any more than naming the sky captures the light — but a name lets us work. You learn to notice it. You learn to name it. You learn to leave the body-consciousness in charge.
A usable definition
Prana is the capacity of a living system to organize, repair, and communicate. In the body it shows up as breath, pulse, warmth, and the subtle sense of being here. Outside the skin it shows up as atmosphere: the way a room feels after an argument, or after someone who is at ease has read in it for an hour.
How we train
The work here is observational. You learn to feel, name, and gently adjust the quality of your own field. That skill is the foundation of every later course — Chart 1-1, the meridians as addresses, the jobs of feelings, the slow trace. Be professional, and have a blast.
Practice
Sit for three minutes. Do not change the breath. Notice where you feel the most movement — nostrils, chest, belly, or the space an inch off the skin. Write one sentence about it in the journal.
Check
Here, prana is best treated as:
- A religious doctrine you must accept
- A working model of living organization you can train with ✓
- A color you must see before you begin
Prana is the living field — a name that lets you train, not a belief you join.
The first skill of this hour is:
- Moving energy into other people
- Visualizing colors as strongly as possible
- Noticing the field in yourself and in the room ✓
Feel, name, then gently adjust. You cannot sit Chart 1-1 until you can feel the field.
Naming prana is useful because:
- The name captures the whole sky
- A name lets us train, the way naming feeling lets us dress for it ✓
- The name is a dose you write
A name does not capture it. A name lets you train.
Outside the skin, the field shows up as:
- A lab report
- Atmosphere — the way a room feels after an argument, or after ease has read in it ✓
- A color you must photograph
The room is already speaking. You notice it.
How we train in this academy:
- Observational — feel, name, gently adjust ✓
- By sending into strangers on the street
- By doseming a color onto an organ
Observational first. Chart 1-1 still orders the work.
If the body yields in the first sit, you:
- Push until a color appears
- Stop. That is the hour working ✓
- Prescribe the field so the page looks finished
If the body says no, you stop.
Prana, as capacity, includes:
- Only the thoughts you can name
- Organize, repair, communicate — breath, pulse, warmth, being here ✓
- A costume of seven colors
Living organization. Not a dress code.
The universe-as-energy line is:
- A physics proof you must defend
- Ari’s working frame — people as a local organization of a field that already fills the room ✓
- A reason to skip the body
Frame, not a lecture. The body still belongs on Chart 1-1.
You write one sentence after three minutes because:
- The journal is a grade
- Noticing wants a place to land — not a performance ✓
- The sentence doses the field
One honest sentence. Ask whether you are all alone in the auric field.
What this hour is not:
- A physician, a dose you write, a belief you join ✓
- A sit in the room
- A name that lets you train
You notice.
