The knob

A read of this page, with the plate.

Banner: who wraps the sheath — Schwann one-to-one, oligodendrocyte many
Banner. The coat on the way to the knob. Sphingolin stays a name. MS belongs with a physician.Illustration · site art, not a Kapel Draw.
Mesaxon spirals into compact myelin — major dense line and intraperiod line
The wrap. Mesaxon first. Cytoplasm squeezed out. Compact myelin is stacked membrane.Illustration · site art, not a Kapel Draw.
Four rooms along the axon: node, paranode, juxtaparanode, internode
Four rooms. Node of Ranvier is the bare gap where the hop happens. Ask whether you are all alone in the auric field.Illustration · site art, not a Kapel Draw.
Saltatory conduction — the impulse jumps node to node; choline parked on the sheath
The hop. Choline in the sheath. Class 06 already covered this walk. Tonight the letter in the vesicle.Illustration · site art, not a Kapel Draw.
Chart 29-5: synaptic knob, vesicle, acetylcholine, cholinesterase, myelin
Chart 29-5. Also 6-3 and 7-3. Vesicle. Acetylcholine. Gap. End-plate. Cholinesterase takes the letter apart after.CGI copy of her Draw · Atlas keeps the original.

Courses 6 and 7 sat this plate. Tonight the letter in the vesicle. B-12, alanine, molybdenum, choline as names for making acetylcholine. Germanium, calcium as names for the open. Cholinesterase destroys the letter after — without that, the muscle will not rest. Myelin as choline and GLA. Sphingolin stays a name. MS belongs with a physician. The gap as pH and viscosity — fungus and urea as pictures already covered.

The coat, again

Walk the four plates before the vesicle. Schwann: one internodal segment on one axon. Oligodendrocyte: many internodes — cord and brain, optic nerve among them. Mesaxon, then the spiral, then compact myelin. Node, paranode, juxtaparanode, internode. The hop is saltatory. Choline stays parking on the sheath, not a dose you write. If the room is MS as a physician, you stop.

Practice

Walk who wraps, the mesaxon, four rooms, the hop. Then name vesicle, gap, end-plate, take-apart. If the room is MS as a physician, you stop.

Check

Schwann on this hour wraps:

  1. Many internodes on many axons
  2. One internodal segment on one axon ✓
  3. The vesicle

One-to-one.

Oligodendrocyte wraps:

  1. One axon only
  2. Many internodes — cord and brain, optic nerve among them ✓
  3. The gap

CNS.

Mesaxon is:

  1. The hop
  2. The first wrap — then the spiral, then compact myelin ✓
  3. Cholinesterase

The coat.

The four rooms along the axon:

  1. Vesicle, gap, plate, esterase
  2. Node, paranode, juxtaparanode, internode ✓
  3. Quiet and rush

The hop lives at the node.

Hop speed is:

  1. Continuous along compact myelin
  2. Saltatory — the impulse jumps node to node ✓
  3. A dose of choline

The fourth plate.

The enzyme at the lower membrane:

  1. Cholinesterase taking the letter apart
  2. Opens the vesicle — germanium, calcium as names ✓
  3. Mesaxon

That's the work.

Cholinesterase on 29-5:

  1. Opens the vesicle
  2. Takes acetylcholine apart after the impulse ✓
  3. Is Schwann

Without it the letter stays.

A node of Ranvier is:

  1. The vesicle’s cargo
  2. The bare gap where the impulse hops ✓
  3. A dose you write for a sheath

The hop.

Sphingolin on this hour is:

  1. A student MS protocol
  2. A name — MS belongs with a physician ✓
  3. Calcium you dose

The coat stays a name.

Recycled 29-1 asks on the knob:

  1. Stay as seven of ten
  2. Cut — this is the richest hour; write the coat and the five boards ✓
  3. Are mesaxon

Path’s cut.
